SNMP LAN Control 16

The SNMP LAN Control 16 offers the option to control up to 16 digital as well as anolog signals and provide their states within a network over different network protocols.
The available network protocols are:

  • HTTP
  • SNMP (inclusive Traps)
  • POP3/ SMTP (email notification if an error occours, POP before SMTP)
  • TCP/ UDP-Sockets

The modular structure of the device makes it possible to use different I/O-cards in order to detect different signal types. This allows an optimal hardware configuration for the appropriate application. In this way the use of different devices can be reduced to a minimum.
At present the following interface cards are offered:

  • Digital input and output module
  • Analog input and output module
  • Temperatur modul
  • Hygrometer modul (humidity)

In order to be able to read the channel status directly at the device's front panel the SNMP LAN Control 16 has 16 multicoloured LEDs that are used to signal four different channel states. An inactive LED signals a interface that is not available. The conditions 'red' or 'orange' indicate a limit value that is exceeded or under-run. Green LEDs signal a correct signal at the respective channel.
Two further status LEDs at the device's front panel show the status of the two redundant power supplies. Thus the reliability of the SNMP LAN Control 16 is increased and the function garanteed.

In order to adapt the various possibilities of the SNMP LAN Control 16 to the customer's requirements the device can be comfortably configured via a web browser. The user interface enables the configuration of SNMP, email, limits etc.. The device specific MIB (Management Information Base) as well as the manual can be downloaded directly from the intergated web server.

SNMP Konfiguration

The device configuration menu allows to set up the available interface cards. On the left hand side you can see a section that shows the configuration options of the digital input cards. These permit to select the desired input signals at two pins of the 9-pin Sub-D connector. This option makes it possible to use standard cables without changing the pin assignment.
For every channel the generation of Trap and email notifications can be switched on separately.
Furthermore the user interface allows to describe the type of the connected switch (Normal close [NC]; Normal open [NO]).

For the purpose of a fast overview of the current states there is regulary updating html page available.
It is similar to the device's front panel.

In order to send emails, the device contains an email client. This allows the transmission of status and error messages directly to the system administrator. By using PBS (POP before SMTP) dispatching of messages over each usual POP3/ SMTP mail server is possible. The configuration takes place by a HTML form generated by the internal Web server. The email notification can be switched on or off for each channel. Further there is a possibility of deactivating this function completely.
